A. ASSEMBLY

The Assembly | Academy

Sacred & Heritage Languages

Learn languages as living responsibilities to people, texts and historical communities.

Literature and curriculum prepared · Gatherings not yet scheduled

Three languages. Three distinct histories.

Hebrew supports Torah reading and connects ancient and modern Jewish learning. Geʽez is a classical Semitic language central to Ethiopian and Eritrean textual and liturgical heritage. Ladino/Judeo-Spanish bears Sephardic Jewish memory through oral literature, print and script. These traditions deserve their own teachers, sources and assessments.

Each course has a published 12-week curriculum, instructor-review gate, clear weekly outcomes, accessible workbooks, practice and feedback, a final source-based assessment and a meaningful completion record. The first lesson is open for preview on every course page. Enrollment is not open until qualified instructors and real scheduling exist.

These are foundation courses, not claims of fluent conversation, authorization to perform liturgy, or professional translation competency. Hebrew, Geʽez and Ladino manuscripts require differing reading direction and scripts; the platform must render original text correctly.
