TRUST BEFORE ACTIVATION

Safeguarding, moderation and reporting

A welcoming institution must be safe enough to question.

Before a forum or event opens

Publish a named responsible host, a monitored reporting route, an independent escalation or appeal contact, supervision arrangements and the limits of confidentiality. These appointments and channels are not yet verified; public posting and Assembly-run registration remain disabled.

Children and families

Use parent or guardian authorization where required, suitable adult supervision and appropriate screening. Do not enable unmonitored private adult–minor messaging. Collect only necessary information through an approved restricted process. Obtain separate permission for photographs, recordings and public identification. Do not publish a child’s location, schedule or personal records.

Response to concerns

At an active gathering, contact the identified host or safeguarding lead. Address immediate safety first; do not require public confrontation or informal mediation. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. Do not use this informational website as an emergency reporting channel.

Moderation procedure

  1. Identify the conduct and applicable rule.
  2. Stop immediate harm and preserve only necessary evidence in restricted storage.
  3. Explain a proportionate action when safe to do so.
  4. Provide a separate review route before opening a live forum.
  5. Record outcome and reasons without exposing complainants or minors publicly.

Boundaries

The Tent is not an advertised shelter, emergency response, clinical service or legal representation service. A fellowship conversation is not a substitute for qualified professional care or required reporting. Appropriate local requirements and policies need review before programs involving minors or vulnerable people begin.

Freedom and privacy

No one must disclose trauma, defend an entire community, pray or accept a theological conclusion to receive a public welcome. Participation, publication and recording consent are distinct.
